How We Dig Gems Out Of A Crowded Store

September 22, 2026 · Lukas Berger

People ask how we find the games we cover, as if there's a secret feed. There isn't. It's mostly patience, a lot of installing, and a shared willingness to be bored for twenty minutes to find the one that isn't.

We watch new-release lists, yes, but we lean harder on word of mouth — forum threads, a developer's older work, a weird screenshot someone shares. Coin Games came to us that way, as a tip from a reader who swore it was better than it looked.

Then it's just playing. We give everything a fair window and ignore the icon and the marketing. If a game is still fun past the first session, it earns a proper look. If not, it quietly leaves the queue.

The uncomfortable truth is most games don't make it, and that's fine. Our job is filtering so yours is easier. If something's on this site, one of us genuinely wanted to keep playing it.
