About
PocketPixels started as a group chat between four friends who kept sending each other screenshots of odd little games nobody else was talking about. At some point we realised we were writing mini-reviews anyway, so we moved it all to a proper site. That was the whole plan — no business deck, just a shared itch.
We only cover games we actually install and play. Someone on the team has to reach at least a few hours in before it earns a spot in the catalogue. If a game bores us or breaks after ten minutes, it quietly doesn't make the cut rather than getting a hit piece.
Genres don't matter much to us — we'll chase a chunky strategy game and a daft three-minute arcade thing in the same afternoon. What we look for is intent: a game that knows what it wants to be. Polish helps, but a rough gem beats a shiny bore every time.
We're not trying to be the biggest games site. We'd rather publish one piece a week we stand behind than ten we rushed. If that sounds like your kind of thing, stick around.
